If you love Char Siew and Sio Bak!

Firstly i've gotten to say that the 'motivation' for me to continue posting is when i realised that someone out there actually reads my blog LoLx. I remember the very first time was when my Staycation post on Equarius Hotel hit over 1000 views within a day! and right now is when my friend actually dropped a message on my FB timeline that she saw my blog post being shared by Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee themselves, on their very own FB!

The funny thing is, none of my friends except for 1 or 2 of them knows that i actually blog lolx. So this was rather intriguing to me and definitely a pleasant surprise =)

I have been trying to detox myself lately, after having so many good food! But as my mother-in-law aptly pointed it out to me: “新加坡人没有饿死的,只有撑死” HeeeeeEHEee~~ It literally means that no Singaporean ever dies from starvation, most probably we only die from over eating =X

How is that ever our fault to begin with? The food in Singapore is too dam good! And right now, my fellow love-to-indulge-in-good-food friend~ If you are like me and you love Char Siew & Sio Bak, you must go to....

Char Restaurant!

I am not gonna waste time typing wordy text to introduce or recommend their food, because trust me... the images below is more than enough to blow your mind away!

The side dish are pretty decent, but thats really not the point. You MUST die die order the Char Siew, Sio Bak and Roast Duck at Char.

The Char Siew is really super tender and the caramelised goodness on the skin of the Char Siew is to die for~ The Sio Bak is so yummyliciously crispy and succulent! and the duck just tasted perfect! I was totally all smiles the moment i placed the Char Siew into my mouth =D~~ Extreme Goodness!

Please call them early to reserve the Char Siew, Sio Bak and Duck as i heard that they are usually sold out really fast. You can contact their friendly staff at: 6842 7759. They are only opened on Tuesdays to Sundays, 1130H - 1430H & 1800H - 2200H.

Just in case you are wondering, all my food recommendations are purely based on what i like =) all the post here are definitely not ads because... i don't even have that much viewers to begin with ahaha.

But if you somehow chanced upon my Blog then you must be super "heng" because i only blog about the very best and most delicious =)

Paradise Pavilion - #Throwback

=X another of my super duper #throwback post, and this time I'm going clllllll there wayyyyyy back to our Mother's Day dinner + Wifey's birthday celebration. If you love Peking Roast Duck, you must try it at Paradise Pavilion! They serve really really delicious Peking Roast Duck and also Kurobuta "Black Pork"!

We were really impressed by the interior of the restaurant when we arrive! It's kinda grand and posh, and the moment you enter the restaurant, you will kinda know one of their secrets to a great tasting Peking Roast Duck, and that is.....

The use of Apple Wood to roast their ducks!

I don't have to tell you how bloody delicious this is... omg... I'm hungry again.. now... at 1:38am.....

I was kinda surprised that there's actually a 'special' part of the duck that should be eaten separately and in a different way, and that is the back of the duck!

It's these very thin, super duper crispy 8 slices of goodness that goes super well with

Sugar! LoLXXxx sounds weird right? Wait till you actually try it! Its dammmm nice =)

The soup served at Paradise Pavilion is very rich and tasty! We ordered Shark's Fin, Sour and Spicy Soup, as well as the last one which sadly... i couldn't remember the name of it... But all of them were so good! I've tried similar soup at places such as Ding Tai Fung, but nothing at all comes close to this!

This is the next highlight, their Kurobuta Black Pork! Omgggggg the meat is so tender, tasty and best of all, it doesn't make you feel too queasy after eating it. It's really a MUST ORDER over at Paradise Pavilion!

Wifey and I love deer meat =) And when we ordered this, it was totally no disappointment at all! Every single dish that they serve are cooked to perfection. You will never experience a piece of meat that comes across as rubbery or hard to chew. It is all so so so tender!

Just look at these magnificent prawns! I don't need to elaborate anymore...

Broccoli with Crab Roe! Okay, i hafta be rational about this. This dish was slightly 'normal' as compared to the rest. I kinda feel that it was a little blend? Although the presentation of this dish was like super overwhelming! Crab Roe on Broccoli leh, where to find?!!? LoLx

Check out their fried rice... got fish roe lor! OMG.... my stomach is crying now, it's shouting feed me feed me like 10,000 times!

This particular dessert adds a nice ending to a sumptuous dinner^^ It has lemongrass, sour plum and jelly, that helps to "rejuvenate" your palates and relieve you of all the meaty feeling (although like i mentioned earlier, all their meat dishes will not make you feel queasy and have that overly oily kinda feeling).

Their fried durian was pretty normal though. It looks very impressive but the durian taste wasn't strong and fragrant enough for me (durian lovers, you get what i mean^^).

And to end of the night, Wifey's sisters very thoughtfully brought out a surprise birthday cake (or cupcakes) for her! It is sooooooo sooooooooo cuteeeeeee!

LoL, we (or rather just me -.-) thought that we could do a small little hint on Facebook of our little bundle of joy, we couldn't disclose it yet at that time because it was still within our first trimester, but apparently a lot of our friends caught it! (oops~~) We had to lie low and act blur about it until we finally could let out our secret^^

This photo wasn't posted on Facebook because it was too obvious. But i decided to post it here so that  i can archive all these sweet memories!

OKAY! Buay tahan (*cannot take it) already! Time to make myself some supper =X Stomach is growling non-stop T_T....

Battle of the Wanton Noodles!

I've tried both of these Wanton Noodles (okay.. maybe NOT EXACTLY wanton noodles, but really similar) at different times, but in my own opinion, while both were/are pretty hyped up by bloggers, only 1 of them is worth to try.

Yes it is the battle between Bee Kee Wanton Noodles VS Soi 19 Wanton Noodles! *address below*

When you first look at the Bee Kee Wanton Noodle stall, it seems really normal and they do not advertise truffle noodles at their stall front.

So how do you order this place of noodles?! Just approach the staff and ask for Truffle Noodles~ Voila~! Actually if you see closer, there is a small tag near the cashier that says "we serve truffle noodles" but they deliberately did not make the advertisement of Truffle Noodles too big because it takes quite a bit of time to prepare which may chock the queue. Hence it's like a if you know it you can order it, kinda thing.

The Truffle Noodles was really really fragrant! You could immediately smell truffles the moment you place this place in front of you! BUT...... sadly..... in my own opinion (don't wanna get flamed for this lol), the taste is somewhat lacking. Its like eating normal Wanton Noodles that somehow has a truffle smell in it.

It was really quite disappointing for me, because the truffle smell like i said was super duper fragrant! but the taste just didn't really come out..

Oh well.... i guess life must move on.... =X therefore next we have~~~~

The queue for the Soi 19 Wanton Noodle is crazy and the seats at the kopitiam is very very limited. So go there early if you want to try it!

This time round, the Soi 19 Wanton Noodle did not disappoint us at all! It looks dry, sauceless, white, plain, whatever.... but when you chew onto the noodles, it is super springy and tasty! The noodle is pretty similar to the one we had in Thailand, but the char siew can still do a little more better.

But that being said, this plate of noodles did not disappoint us at all! Totally worth coming back for it again =) Wifey and I love fish sauce, so we drizzled a bit of that into this plate of noodles and it totally enhanced the flavours! *super hungry now..... T_T*

They have a "up-size" bowl that allows you to add their Thai Sausage, which I highly recommend you to do so! The sausage is very little, but its very nice! Its not the ones that we would've ate ever so often here in Singapore. It has a nice chewy texture to it and yes... super delicious and flavourful! 5 Stars for this place LoLxxxx i really love it =)

If you wanna give these two noodles a go, their address are as follows:

Bee Kee Wanton Noodles
Cheun Kee Kopitiam
2 Lorong Lew Lian
(s)531002

Soi 19 Wanton Mee
Blk 151 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 Coffee shop

Have a nice meal! =)
