Italian Shell Pasta anyone??

OMG... it has only been a few days and there are so many backlog blog post! But i guess that means that life has been pretty happening for me eh =)

Finally mustered up all the 'energy' that i have to cook the Shell Pasta that Wifey and i  bought from MEIDI-YA.

Most of you would have probably seen these HUGE ASS SHELL PASTAS from Xiaxue's blog, if you havn't you can check out her recipe by clicking here. We referenced off her recipe to cook our shell pasta too^^ and it turned out pretty good!

These are the basic ingredients for the recipe. And it is really simple to do!

In Xiaxue's recipe, she used lobster tails. But in our case, we used prawns instead. Primarily because these are the results of my prawning session with my colleague quite some time ago. And this would probably be the best occasion to cook them.

Boil the pasta to Al Dante (obviously... lolxxx), and take them out to cool a little bit before we stuff the fillings into these pastas.

Next, just stir fry the baby spinach with olive oil and garlic. I thought that this amount of baby spinach was a lot, but nope... its actually quite little considering that you still have to stuff them into the pasta. You should see Xiaxue's pasta, i believe it would taste nicer if we added more spinach into the stuffing then just aim to have more meat!

Just add the stir fried baby spinach together with the feta cheese and mix well.

As i have already cooked the prawns to about 70% and the crab sticks are all technically 'pre-cooked', i start mixing them all up with the baby spinach and feta cheese. Since we are going to oven bake them later, it's okay to mix them all up even though they are not totally cooked yet.

Next, its time to stuff them all up with our delicious stuffings!

The sauce is very easy to make. Its basically a pre-made sauce that you find in most NTUs's

This is the end result of baking them for another 15 minutes at 180 degrees celcius. They taste superb! Best pasta i ever made hahaha^^

To spice up our dinner, we also had the cream of mushroom soup which we bought from mmmm! at Changi City Point.

Their mushroom soup sold at mmmm! is really good! in fact, i think that it is kinda better than the one sold at Fassler^^

Check out our lovely meal!!! Its totally super delicious, although,

You have GOT TO TRY! The Cream of Mushroom soup is a MUST BUY! it is so tasty and absolutely heavenly!

That's all for now. Till my next blacklog post =X

Wifey's Birthday Surprise!

It is a success!!! hahhhaa after so many of always being found out by Wifey on the surprises that i've planned for her~ first time in so long i actually managed to pull it through!^^ While it isn't exactly anything big... a lot of heart went into it to make small surprises, a big one.

It all started with the PRESENT..

Its not very easy to buy Wifey a present because... technically... i am not smart even to catch the hints and expressions to catch what she likes and would want to have for a gift.....

yes... i am pretty "dumb" but i guess most men are like that? ya? no? Whatever~ hahaha

But it was good this year, as i managed to pick a pair of heels that Wifey so totally adores!

Yep, heels from Salvatore Ferragamo. Wifey has been eyeing on them for a long time but kept telling me that she don't want this heels for a present, because i could tell that she wanted me to save money instead.

But it has been really long since i've really bought anything for her, so in the end i went ahead with it^^

The giving part was kinda tough haha. I gave her the pair of heels before her birthday because just in case it isn't a perfect fit, we could still get it exchanged and.. because she will be attending a good friend's wedding, isn't it perfect to put on this beautiful part of heels for the event?

I think i managed to surprise her perfectly hahahhaa. Basically, Wifey was at her mum's place for dinner, so i slipped out and "Chiong" straight to Salvatore Ferragamo at Takashimaya to purchase the heels. After that, i went to my mother-in-law's place as per normal and had a great home-cooked dinner^^

After dinner i told Wifey that i forgot to pay the bills and needed to pay them urgently via the AXS machine downstairs, that was how i slipped out to grab the heels from my car hahahaha. I coordinated with her sister to hold her in the room while i slipped back in to the house and ~Ta Da`~ Happy Birthday! Heee~ Could tell that Wifey was totally shocked and surprise at that instant lolxxx

On her Birthday itself i also coordinated with her sisters to "ambush" her at the Teo Heng Karaoke Studio, at Rendezvous Hotel. But i told Wifey that after i splurged on the pair of heels i am broke.. so no "big" surprises on her birthday, just a simple meal between the both of us.

As i only booked the Karaoke Studio and Dinner reservations at Ice Edge Cafe, i didn't really have a place to go to for lunch before the Karaoke session! So i ended up bringing Wifey to Eighteen Chefs for lunch (at Cathay, where its nearer to Rendezvous Hotel).

The food there is pretty good and affordable! pleasant surprise lolx

How can you not try the Heart Attack Fried Rice ya? lolxxx and obviously.. that's what i went for!

The meat is a bit tough but it's overall still okay for me. The fried rice looks damn bloody intimidating but its actually quite alright and tasty! Garlic Butter Fried Rice^^

Wifey ordered the Tom Yum Aglio Olio which was great! a little bit spicy but very tasty!

I love these cups/mugs~ got the retro feeling to them, but more importantly, the ice lemon tea were great! I am quite "sian" if ice lemon tea at cafes/restaurants just taste like normal breakfast tea, with ice, and 1-2 slice of lemon.... literally Ice + Lemon + Tea... But this was pretty good^^

After Lunch i told Wifey to take a stroll with me LoLXXxx Super Lame right?! HahahahA ya... and obviously she smelled a rat when i said that.. but.. how else was i supposed to trick her there??? Seriously couldn't think of a better excuse/reason hahahhaa

And ya that's when i brought her straight up to the room where her sisters and mum was already camping. They were really sweet as they have been on standby the whole time (not that long la.. about 15mins?) and the moment we stepped it, they played the birthday song on the Karaoke System and we all sang her a happy birthday song =)

Small surprises but very sweet right wifey? =X (hope she sees this haha)

Look at the Superstar singing! **Wifey is so gonna kill me for this =X

After a great singing session we proceeded for dinner at Wifey's favourite cafe, Ice Edge Cafe!

You MUST try this dishes at Ice Edge Cafe!

Their buffalo wings are simply delicious! Its not the level 1 - 10 spicy kinda thing. Its just 1 standard order of buffalo wings that taste great! Not too much vinegar as you would probably expect from other buffalo wings =D~~

I love the calamari rings too! They aren't tough at all! Simply wonderful^^

Every since dinning at Morton's steakhouse, Wifey has been in loved with Onion Soup lolx. The ones served at Ice Edge Cafe is pretty good too! Very flavoury and "full bodied" taste of the onion soup =)

The Squid Ink spaghetti is quite good actually. At least it doesn't have that smelly/fishy smell to it and the spaghetti is cooked pretty Al Dante!

Perhaps its just me but i don't really fancy carbonaras, because.. in my opinion.. its probably the simplest pasta sauce to make? But anyways, the carbonara served here is very creamy and the amount of bacon on it gives the sauce a slight tinge of saltiness which makes it very very tasty!

What's in that bag?!!?!?

Seafood Marinara! Wifey likes this a lot, not sure if its because of the taste or the "surprise" hidden within the aluminum foil LoLxxxx. But okay la, its pretty decent =)

This dish was kinda disappointing though, Chick Cordon Bleu. Its basically a chicken cutlet with stuffed cheese fillings. Sounds impressive.. but.. very normal.

If you love ice cream and desserts, then Ice Edge Cafe is a must go for you!

MUST MUST MUST DIE DIE TRY their Waffles and Chocolate Lava Cake!

The waffle is super fragrant and soft on the inside! While the Lava Cake.. simply melts in your mouth... 'nuff said~

These are the reasons why Wifey absolutely love dining at Ice Edge Cafe ^^

Success on Wifey's Birthday "Party" Surprise! Yay!!!!

Great food, great fun and great company from your family and love ones. I believe these are the best gifts for anyone's birthday^^

1 more paper to conclude the semester! and Happy Belated Mother's Day!

Yep~ just 1 more exam away to conclude my 2nd semester in UNISIM! Next Thursday is my last paper for the semester! wooohoooooOo and not forgetting~

HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY!

Guess where did we go to celebrate Mother's Day this year?

Nope its not Equinox LoLx~ Its.... Peach Garden Restaurant at OCBC Centre, 33th Floor!

Here's the reason why we are here...

Perhaps the best place in Singapore for their Suckling Pig! It is super duper crispy but look at that meat over there, super duper juicy too! I can't really explain it.. it's just another level of preparing the Suckling Pig^^ its soooooo goooood`!! =D~~

If you are afraid that the half a Suckling Pig will be too huge for you, at Peach Garden, they allow you to customise your very own platter! Just pick 4-5 starters/meat and inform the waiter/waitress that you would like to make it into a platter and they will gladly help you with it!

That way, not only do you prevent the wasting of food, you also get to order more varieties!

While waiting for the food to arrive.... nowadays.. with smartphones, everyone are "connecting" to each other in their own way. Selfies, games, Facebook, Whatsapp etc. Thousands of ways how person connect to each other.

Like i said...

How can Mich and I not have any selfies of our own too?! hahahhaa

More and more selfies...

Oh well.. don't get me wrong, the food doesn't take that long for it to be served lolx. And right after the platter we have~~

Peking Roast Duck! It has been so long since i ate this dish.. oh my... i miss it so much~ =)

What happened to the meat? we had it cook together with our Ee Fu Noodles^^

This is a mixture of the "golden prawn ball" and "Wasabi prawn ball". Like i said, Peace Garden allows you to customise quite a bit of things, including their menu. Which means you will be able to more varieties!

This soup is very good especially for women! I honestly can't remember the name of it, but it has quite a bit of collagen and doesn't taste like a soup with MSG overdose lolx....... This particular soup is a must try! Wifey couldn't exactly remember the name of this soup as well, once we show this photo to the waitress, she immediately knew what was it that we wanted to order and helped us place the order for this soup^^

Okay... this is kinda bo liao~ but who cares?! hahaha we held the most expressive challenge! And obsviously Cindy won the competition haha, Elise was just kinda... erm... no expression? =X

We were kinda lucky to be there for Mother's Day as they had a promotion for their lobsters! What you see in the pic above only cost $25!!! NNnnNniiIIiicCcCEEeeeeee

Personally, i felt that their Ee Fu Noodles were great. The "Wok" smell/taste is there and with the Peking Duck meat on it.. Heavenly! Must Try!

Last but not least, anyone who goes there for dinner must have this for dessert! Its some kinda coconut related dessert (damn... i must go ask Wifey again what are the names of this dishes), that totally eradicates all oily/greasy feeling from the food we had just now.

Hee a couple more selfies to go!

and more...

and more.....

and ta da~ family photo of a happy mother and her beloved daughters! ^^
