If you have not tried Omakase style Japanese dining and you are keen to, then you have to totally check out Shinzo, located at 17 Carpenter Street #01-01 (s)059906.
There isn't much publicity required for Shinzo as they cater to regulars and people who are truly food lovers. Hence they are not affected by the number of walk-in customers at all!
As Omakase style typically means that the Chief will you serving you in small portions ie. one sushi at a time, i have a ton of photos taken at Shinzo! hahahah
Just to share some of my favourites at Shinzo^^
I am sorry that i do not know some of the names to this dishes, simply because, i just ate what was served to me! haaha. Like i said, no requirements to order at all! This is some kinda grilled Cod Fish (i believe lolx), it is the BEST grilled fish i ever ever had!
Flame on!
Wait forrrr itttttttttt~~
OMG... This Tuna sushi that has been "grilled" by the bunsen burner is FREAKING DELICIOUS!
I forgot what fish this is, i believe its either yellowtail or swordfish~ Look at the way its grilled by the bunsen burner to perfection! with the outer layer well grilled and the middle of the meat fresh and rare~ =D~~ I am feeling hungry again....
Another grilled sushi~~ Who wouldn't love grilled sushi with mentaiko!!!!!! Its Perfect!
This was one of the starters that we had at Shinzo. every piece of sashimi is not only fresh (obviously~) they are all very very very succulent! Its hard to describe.. its definitely not the normal sashimi that you would have probably tried at Sushi Tei.. Suki Sushi... Sakae Sushi.... Its so so so juicy and succulent! Love X 10000000!!!
Okay.. i know you might be thinking "WTF? Tempura? so normal..." Hear me out... This is Tempura that is JUICY when you bite into the prawns or mushroom! It is perfectly fried! It is not your normal normal normal tempura at all! Crunchy on the outside, and JUICY TENDER on the inside!
Even the sauce for the Tempura dip is AWESOME! I can't say more.. but please just go and try the food at Shinzo! It is definitely breath-taking!
The service there is really great too! At Shinzo, you can expect to have a very personalised service where the chief, other than cooking for you, will serve you personally as well! Every single dish is plated properly, and if you happen to away from your seat, the chief will wait till you are back before serving the dish to you personally!
And ya, perhaps another one of its inter-personal touch is that the chief will have a toast and drink with his customers too!hee^^~
Shinzo's Omakase style of dining has totally won my heart over! And it is technically not very expensive for an Omakase style Japanese dining. Its about $150 per pax, and its definitely worth every single penny!
Yum yum~!!
