"Shop till you drop! Korea trip!" Episode 1

I just found out that my blog has finally hit over 1000 views!!! hahahahhaHAhaa while that may be so so so so so little to most bloggers, it is kinda cool to know that your blog has been viewed by others, people whom you do not know, many times, since its debut^^

I've came back from my South Korea trip over a week ago, but have yet to start blogging on it because it seems so daunting! just imagine.. i have over 900 photos taken during the 10 days of my trip! seriously don't know how to start, LoLxx!

I really hope to be able to blog about my entire South Korea trip within 5 posts..

And without further ado, lets start with Episode 1 of my "Shop till you Drop! Korea Trip!"

We took a transit trip from Singapore - Hong Kong - Incheon Intl. Airport. And thereafter another domestic flight to Busan. The entire flight time was about 8hrs~~ And we took a midnight flight, so it was kinda shag for us. I honestly did not really enjoy my flight with Cathay Pacific, the service was alright, but the comfort was pretty bad in my opinion. The seats were pretty cramp and it could not recline back enough for me to rest comfortably...

Ah Kang brought with him a pretty cool monopod!

It's a selfie monopod! Just attach your phone on one end and you can use either the wired or wireless remote controller to snap your photos while you hold onto the handle of the monopod^^

*caution!* you WILL definitely draw attention in public when you use this selfie monopod hahaaha! But the results are, a great selfie with lots of fun!

It is only meant for camera phones though, i tried attaching my Olympus EPL6 to it, but it wasn't able to hold the weight of a micro four third very well.

The airport at Hong Kong was pretty much closed when we arrived, the only place that we could go to for drinks and food is....

Mcdonalds! Check out their breakfast meals in Hong Kong! They have grilled chicken with macaroni and soybean drink! How come Singapore don't have... it's a really really tasty and a great comfort food after a flight that i did not rest well in^^ Wifey would definitely agree with me because she loved the macaroni too!

Finally~~ we arrived at Incheon Intl. Airport and have to take a train to Gimpo Airport for our domestic flight to Busan.

We haven't gotten our "cashbee" cards yet, instead, we bought a single journey ticket which can be refunded at the end of our journey. The cashbee cards which are you can top-up like the Ez Link cards we use in Singapore are also refundable once you are done with them, and they can be found at all convenient stalls in Korea.

Jessie and Ah Kang's luggage suffered damages though.. as the ground staff for Cathay Pacific mishandled their luggages.. Luckily for Jessie though, she had a luggage bag case which she used, to prevent scratches on their luggage.

Reviewing our itinerary that Jessie has painstakingly done for our trip! Ah Kang also printed out both the Busan and Seoul's subway layout for us, to make travelling easier around Korea much more convenient =)

What did i do?... hmmmmm.... take pictures and blog down our memories in Korea lo`~ =X

Our first non-korean meal in Korea! ... well it's founded from Korea... so technically it's considered as Korean fast-food i guess haha. And and and and andddddd most importantly, the burgers are sooooo GOOD! Imagine Bulgogi flavored burgers! OMG... Mcdonalds should consider having something like that too! If nothing they have Lotteria franchises in Singapore as well =D~~

This was the Cashbee card that i was talking about, do remember to get them to ease your travelling needs in Korea. Its 100% refundable as well, so no worries if you put too much money into it. As a rough guide, we spent about 35,000Won during our 10 days at Korea.

This is the hotel that we stayed in Busan, Hotel for U. Well.. it is a love hotel, but its kinda cool as they have several different themes to choose from and it isn't too shabby as well. If you are thinking that the interior as well as the furnitures are gonna be 'dirty' and "lock kok" (hokkien for run-down) then you will be in for a surprise =)

The mess on the bottom right side of this photo is actually our luggage hahaha, the room was surprisingly well kept and is pretty cool =) If you want, you could actually turn on the "mood" lights which makes the room dim and greeny for some extra ~mood~

One PC each for internet surfing^^

Our mini hallway

Okay, the dresser is a little small but it has everything that you will need, from hairdryers to hair gel etc.

The bathroom are very spacious though, it has a tub as well as rainshower!

As mentioned earlier, the hotel room and its fixtures are in really great shape. The only 2 things that may not be that great are the blankets, as it is not really comfortable (i think most couples who come here don't opt to stay overnight) and there isn't a wardrobe or area for you to put your luggages, therefore your hallway will be blocked by your luggages and shopping bags.

Verdict: It is great as a value for money stay, but not for a prolonged period of time as the rooms are technically not meant for a comfortable long period of stay.

Jessie's room is much more spacious as it is more 'squarish'. But its pretty nice too! and they have their very own mini dining table^^

While our toilet and bath area is separated, theirs is basically a huge ass toilet, with a huge tub!

Okay~ Time to explore the streets of Busan!

The moment i stepped out of our hotel i noticed a 2NE1 hotel! LoLxx i'm sure it's not opened by them,  but it definitely gave me the feel of, "Yes i'm in Korea!" =)

The very first Korean snack that we tried is a traditional Korean snack called Hotteok!

In the past, Hotteok does not include these nuts and seeds. But as healthy eating became more and more popular in Korea, they started adding these nuts and seeds into the snack. And oh my... it blends very very well!

Lovely~! This is definitely a MUST TRY in Korea! Super delicious!

Check this out! a bartender by the streets! If you have noticed, the take-out packets/cups that they use are in a zip-lock bag styled take-out bottle. Pretty cool eh!

Another selfie before we continue with our exploration of Busan^^ heeeeee~

We decided to explore a bit more before deciding on what to eat for dinner, too many stalls... too many food.... omg...

This reminds me of Runningman, where they had to play games such as carrying each other and buying a designated item from one of these "old school stalls".

Really kinda regretted that we didn't try this out! We thought we could come back to this after our dinner... but... too full already~ T_T

Doesn't this look totally awesome!

Korea is kinda famous for these special looking seafood! Such as pineapple fish and all, but not today, as we will eventually be heading to Jagalchi Fish Market one of these days for some totally awesome seafood delicatessen!

The famous Penis Fish =) which i will be trying at Jagalchi Fish Market, so... wait for it! ^^ Looks pretty much like the real thing eh? =X

This is a live eel which the boss skinned right in front of us! I videographed the entire process.. if you wanna take a look at how it is done (it is pretty cool and skillful actually) click on the Youtube link below. But if you are afraid of blood and all that kinda funky stuff, then i recommend you to skip it and carry on with my blog hahahaah~

(i don't know why the embed video doesn't seem to work on mobile phones.. if you are browsing my blog using a smartphone and would wanna view the video, then please click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XCN0PWFv-o).

Finally settled on this for our dinner! Korean Odeng^^ And of course this alone won't be able to satisfy our hungry stomach~

All the must eat Korean street food! Spicy rice cakes, Kimbap, Odeng etc.~

And obviously, you MUST drink soju with all that Korean Street Food!

Wifey found this popsicle! Almost every Korean drama and variety show you would see this and it TASTE GREAT! It's nothing like our 10cent ice stick LoLx~ Its really really tasty! There's also a chocolate flavour that taste great as well! Its just dam nice la!!!

Yes.... we were supposedly dam full after all that food just now. But our stomachs started to growl again when we walked past this food stall! Korean BBQ!

Heeheee~ Beers are a must when you are eating in Korea! Hite is really really light, so if you can't take too much alcohol like me, then its a great beer for us haha. But if you want something slightly heavier and more heavily bodied, then Cass beer would be a great choice =)

Look at that succulent pork! OMG OMG OMG!

But the particular dish that caught our eyes, and made us feel hungry all over again wasn't the pork belly... Its the Pig Skin!

BBQ Pig Skin + Beer = Heaven! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water once again!

I LOVE KOREA! =X

This looks damn cute but actually taste pretty normal lolx. Its just a very very sweet snack with whip cream and all that sugary stuff (i personally don't like whipped cream).

Hmmmm... this is what i have installed for my first episode of "Shop till you Drop! Korea Trip!" ... and i only covered like day 1 of my trip? LoLx... i think 5 blog post to cover it all is gonna be super ambitious hahaha~

Stay tune to the next episode of "Shop till you Drop! Korea Trip!"
