A visit to 49 Seats!

Still haven't finish posting on my Korea trip lolx~ yea.. i hafta admit that my progress is kinda like crawl.. super duper slow... But i guess its because i have been really tied up with work and other fun filled activities over the weekends, such as providing photography coverage for weddings ^^

Today's post is back to our "mainstream" topic of cafe hopping!  And this time we went to 49 Seats!  It isn't much of a cafe if you were to ask me, its more like a restaurant instead. At 49 seats, they primarily serve main courses. For desserts, it's essentially their waffle with ice-cream as well as brownie with ice-cream. They do not serve cakes and their coffee/tea is really just.. normal coffee and tea.. no Lattes, espressos, fraps, blaa.. blaaaa.... bllaaa.... So if you are expecting to go there with friends to chit chat over a coffee and cakes then... you will be disappointed T_T

Pretty cool table number eh? haha =X

They are open from 6pm onwards and close at 1am. For Fridays and Saturdays they close at 430am instead. But guess what? They are closed for the whole day on Sundays... Very weird operating hours if you were to ask me as i do not foresee myself going to 49 Seats for.... supper? spaghetti and western food for supper isn't my cup of tea~ I still prefer prata, dim sum, hawker food for supper LoLx~ Old School Stuff ya~

The interior design of 49 Seats is also pretty old school~ And the seats are pretty limited as well, but not to worry, they have a lot of seats available outside the cafe. Although you won't be able to soak into the atmosphere that the theme of the cafe brings, you still get to taste their food though~

As usual, wifey ordered a cup of Ice Lemon Tea (boring.... =X) while i tried their House Fizz, Mango flavoured! Which is... even more boring.... LoLxxx its basically mango syrup at the base of the cup.. the drink its those kinda soda water thingy.. mix it up together and you have 49 seats very own House Fizz...

*speechless*...

0 points for that...

The waiting time for the food can take pretty long, so be prepared to take some selfies or have some self entertainment before your food is served, heee~ =X

This was on the recommended list. One of their finer food, fish bites! its not bad~ pretty tasty and fresh! And i would really recommend this dish if you were to swing by 49 Seats.

And great finger food / starter by 49 Seats! Golden Escargots! I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE Escargots, especially those served at Jack's Place, Escargot with Garlic!

But this is different though, it's basically fried Escargots. Which taste pretty awesome, but .. still.. cannot be compared to Escargots with Garlic oil~~~

Okay, i hafta admit.. it was pretty lame of me to order fish & chips when i already ordered the fish bites... zzzz.... The fish and chips was pretty normal for me.. no 'WoW' factor..

While the Tom Yum Sauce was really freshly made and had like fresh ingredients in it, such as prawns, mussels etc. It wasn't very very fantastic as well. In fact, it was a little bit on the too salty side... While i applaud the chef for using so many great ingredients to make the sauce.. the taste just didn't quite bring justice to the ingredients used..

Wifey had the creamy smoked duck spaghetti, which is also highly recommended. It isn't too bad, at least the cream base wasn't too overpowering~ Wont't make you feel very 'jer lat', and the smoke duck is pretty nice too.

Their dessert.. in particular... their waffle with ice-cream.. is... disappointing! It is really really just normal waffles with maple syrup, chocolate sauce and 2 scoops of normal ice-cream. There is nothing different about their waffles at all..

so sad... i was looking forward to their desserts.......

Oh well.. at the end of the day, i really felt that 49 Seats is slightly overrated. The food really isn't that great and it doesn't justify the effort to go all the way there for a meal...

Will i go back to 49 Seats? Probably not... my own personal ratings? Perhaps.. 3/10 stars...
