Pinkish treats at Ritz-Carlton (High Tea)!

Exams are tough... but luckily for me, Wifey and her friends always got good food places to bring me to! (although she will attack me for not being able to lose weight afterwards T_T). But that's alright! Because who turns away from great food ya?

This time though, it isn't really main courses and savoury food items. We are going for high tea at Ritz-Carlton! *warning, this theme pink theme changes seasonally, so you hafta check what's the current theme first*

Super pinkish lolx, this was what actually caught wifey's eye and the main reason why we went to Ritz-Carlton for high tea.. but............

This was the one and only pinkish thing/table/treats there.. the rest of the high tea items are placed in normal buffet-like setting, which i honestly didn't bother taking photos of...

I hafta give it to them for the decor though. It is done very nicely, clean, sweet and comfortable. Definitely a great place to catch up with your friends over tea/coffee and desserts. BUT the service there was pretty disappointing though..

1. We were strolling amidst the center of the high tea area looking for someone to serve us, and this only happened after like.. 10mins? Aren't we at Ritz-Carlton? This is so disappointing...

2. The waiters/waitresses were not knowledgeable on their product knowledge. Every simple question that we ask, they have to seek verification from their manager. Simple questions such as "Are my drinks free flow?", "can i pick any drink from this list or do i have to stick with 1 particular drink throughout the session? " ..... zzzZzz

3. We had to flag for the waiter/waitress to clear our tables (the table is very very small, catered for small plates of desserts only). And if you were there, you would probably be seeing an 'idiot' like me waving and waving in the air just to catch their attention..

4. Food items replenishment are so slow.. The pretty looking pink table full of pastries and desserts are literally 'botak' after 30mins to 45mins, and the replenishment for them came in multiple waves of like 9-10 pieces? You literally never see it being fully replenished from 3.30pm onwards (high tea starts at 2.30pm).

These are my 4 main pet peeves i had during our high tea session... luckily the pastries were decent LoLx or else...

The macarons are great! a little bit too sweet but nonetheless it's pretty good =)

Don't bother.. unless you want a jaw breaker / tooth smasher / another dental surgery....

These 2 are my personal favourite. Shortcake and Velvet cake! Very soft and delicious =) Definitely not tough and dry like some of the Velvet cakes/cupcakes that i've tasted before.

Apart from their pastries/desserts, they do have savoury food items as well, which i must say are pretty nice! I wasn't expecting that much 'effort' for their savoury items, but it turned out a lot better than i expected =)

The one in front is the smoked chicken with bread/mini croissant and that is really good. But the goose liver... those greyish things behind... omg... please don't bother... it's horrible..

i personally quite favour this item^^ Smoked salmon =D~

Their sandwiches are all very very nice! Love it! I don't mind having them for breakfast everyday lolx =)

Half-boiled egg in truffle sauce! THIS IS SIMPLY GORGEOUS! must try!!! =)

Scones are a must for me when i'm having high tea, and the scones here do not disappoint! The strawberry scone behind is my favourite!^^

Cam-whoring time~

Overall it was a great experience! If only the service was better...

It's pretty pricey though, the total bill for 4 pax was $245. But was it worth it? I guess it was (try at least once kinda thing), but i would not be coming back again to Ritz-Carlton for high tea unless they are gonna come up with a whole new menu or something.. then perhaps?

=)

Back to mugging for my exams.... sian.........
