Five and Dime Eatery!

Located at 297 River Valley Road is a cafe that you should NOT miss! Five and Dime Eatery is a retro-ish / vintage looking cafe that offers great food and drinks! The place is kinda small, so if you want to dine over there, please make reservations early as they are really packed especially on weekends.

My wife and I went to Five and Dime Eatery today after work and we really really enjoyed our time there^^ The service was excellent, the food and drinks were excellent and there is a small plus point to the cafe, they have an outdoor car park just for their patrons! So you don't have to keep circling around the neighbourhood looking for a car park lot.

Really love the look of the interior! The chalkboard, wooden furnitures and colour theme makes the place really cozy!

I was quite surprised when i saw their drinks menu haha! its in those really old school notebooks that we used to use when we were realllllyyyyyyy young^^

Not sure if you would feel the same way as i do. If they bother to write my name on a reservation card and 'chop' the table for me, i could feel the sincerity as compared to just having a excel list of reservations.

When my wife ordered Iced Tea.... i was like.... -_____-||| ..... i mean common, isn't that just normal tea, lipton perhaps and just adding ice to it? LoLx

But nope~ its different. The Iced Tea has a floral fragrance and ending taste to it!

I had my usual dose of caffeine as usual. Macha Latte~ Its really quite good as compared to those i've tried at Starbucks or other cafes.

This is a great starter and you have to try it if it's your first time there! The Miso Duck Salad^^

Most of the time the soup of the day would be Mushroom Soup. But luckily for us, its Clam Chowder for the day! And it totally rocks!

Their signature dish at Five and Dime Eatery (Or at least i would rank it as their signature dish), Mentaiko Pasta! The first time i had a Mentaiko Pasta was at Taiwan. It was great but this is equally good! MUST TRY!!!

I was really having a hard time deciding between the braised pork belly and fish & chips. I certainly did not regret ordering fish & chips but will definitely try the braised pork belly next time. You do not need to use a knife for this dish, its already in bite sizes and fried to perfection!

Check out the fries! while i hafta admit that its kinda oily..... who cares! Its tastes great! hahaha^^

The Chocolate Lava Custard (akin to "liu sha bao") Cake is kinda disappointing though... quite normal.

All in all, Five and Dime Eatery is a place that i would totally return to dine at! What more could i ask for? Going to a lovely cafe that serves nice food and have excellent customer service. Just the thing i need after a hard day's work^^
